February 2025

As we move into the new year, February has been a month of growth, learning, and renewed energy at Muira Health Center. With 1,989 patient interactions, it’s clear that many individuals continue to place their trust in our care and services.

We had a valuable meeting with our overseeing physician, Dr. Steven Baguma, who conducted a training session with our staff. The focus was on strengthening patient interactions , essentially looking at ways to improve communication, listening attentively, and providing more responsive care. The team also engaged in thoughtful discussions around medication strategies, particularly for patients experiencing recurring conditions like malaria. One key area was tolerance buildup, where medications may become less effective over time. Together, we explored ways to recognize these patterns early and are continuing to look at how to adapt treatment approaches moving forward.

We were also able to refill our oxygen tanks, which had been a challenge over the past few months due to supply issues. With this resolved, we are now better prepared to provide oxygen support to patients who need it most, especially children and women facing respiratory or delivery-related complications.

we also made exciting progress on our Agri-Enterprise Project. We’ve officially started the poultry component, purchasing chicks that will produce eggs in a few months. This initiative will serve two important purposes:

  1. Income generation

  2. Nutritional support

By investing in agriculture, we’re not only supporting our clinic but also creating new opportunities for the people around us, particularly in terms of employment, food security, and long-term sustainability.

Your support makes all the difference. If you’d like to contribute to keeping Muira stocked with essential medicines, please consider donating. Every contribution directly impacts the health and well-being of our community.
